We have the Twitter Feed and the Facebook Fan page, which may not continue. They have proved to be very useful, but I haven't been introduced to my replacement and those tactics may not be a priority for the new person. Other than that, I'm business as usual.

Re: The Signs, Read the Signs!

Congratulations! Good stuff! Thanks for sharing. I've installed it and look forward to giving it a go. Yes, this holds promise for #FollowFriday if you want to create a blog post for that instead of a tweet.

Re: Seen on Twitter 5/17/2010

I did. I should have provided the link to the 'trick'. You can actually find it at http://media.twitter.com/bl.... The trick is to add a Blackbird Bookmarklet on your browser tool bar. You can get it here: http://tigtag.me/1o.

Once you add the Blackbird bookmarklet you can click on it and it will create the code that you place in your blog post. Just cut-and-paste. I found the Twitter code broke up the Tweets and they looked cluttered (I'm guessing it tries to use your CSS in your blog).

Anyway, I think this will be an excellent way for me to point out FridayFollow suggestions and show why I'm following people. It also seems like an easier way for me to track interesting Tweets beyond just adding them as Favorites. (And there's always Google Buzz to keep track of favorites, if I could just figure out how to lasso it!).

M.

Re: Seen on Twitter 5/17/2010

I did. While I've seen many people turn quite a bit out of social media, they haven't gotten it down to a science where they can get the same results over and over again. There are a lot of factors that are out of the marketers hands. While I've had a bunch of experience measuring ROI from traditional strategies, I haven't found anything SM ROI proof in my testing.

Re: The Social Media ROI Myth

Unless you can show the time spent is a direct expense of the marketing or public relations team. Measuring is important, but it's certainly not everything either. It's often difficult, especially for smaller organizations, to measure brand awareness. However, you are right - strategy is paramount before plunging into social media. Without any direction, it's hard to accomplish anything.
